Out of curiosity I googled his name as well as the incorrect "David" and found exactly what you said. There are tons and tons of posts, majority of them incorrect. It has spread like wildfire, as many things on the internet do.

Dan is incredibly humble and appreciates all the support but simply cannot read all the mailings (there were thousands, no joke... and there are more daily). He is donating most of the things that are being sent to him because he feels like others need it more than him. The support is just awesome, but almost too much.

Again, thanks a bunch for being so kind and caring enough to reach out and get involved!

Here's a story published about him, shows you what kind of man he is!=)
http://www.woai.com/news/local/story/Veteran-loses-limbs-in-battle-but-not-hope/r-aJbGIEdUuR_G98_RnTJA.cspxTamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12929597097667025609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8700839985761363082.post-66024023020729855102009-05-30T00:04:28.874-05:002009-05-30T00:04:28.874-05:00Tamara,

This was posted on several car forums that I frequent online, as well as 2 emails that I received from friends.

If you google Sgt Thornhill, you'll find TONS of places online that have made posts to send him cards.

After scouring the web, I found that the emails and posts online were incorrect and his name was incorrect in a bunch of places.

I'm glad to know that he's doing well! Thank you again for taking the time to give us the FACTS!redassaggie00https://www.blogger.com/profile/09311491916585488341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8700839985761363082.post-81064173734429047892009-05-29T23:03:34.119-05:002009-05-29T23:03:34.119-05:00As a friend, I have been out at the Fisher House v...As a friend, I have been out at the Fisher House visiting with SGT Daniel Thornhill and helping him go through all of the kind mailings that he has received. We have been curious where all of it has originated and I came upon your post here. I'm not sure where you received this information from, but it is incorrect. His name is Daniel, and not David. He was injured in Afghanistan by an IED blast. He did lose both his legs and has burns, but still has both his arms. As a friend and a regular visitor I feel that is important for me to correct this misinformation and let you know that his family is not concerned about his emotional well being; Daniel is one of the strongest people I know. He also has plenty of visitors and support. And lastly, his birthday was mid May.

Again, thank you for all the letters and thank you for caring enough to reach out and spread the news! The support has been overwhelming and is much appreciated but has also been more than him and his family can handle.

Thanks again,
TamaraTamarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12929597097667025609noreply@blogger.com
